Jump Rope Digest – February 2026 | News, Tips & Gear
Feb 24, 2026Janaína Conceição
February is Heart Month, and we couldn't think of a better time to celebrate a training tool that strengthens both your cardiovascular system and your mindset. Between American Heart Month, Valentine’s Day, and the start of major fitness competitions like the CrossFit Open, this is the month to fall in love with your conditioning again.
Jump rope is great for your cardiovascular health. And building premium jump ropes? That’s what keeps our hearts pumping. ❤️
Let’s get into what you might have missed this month.
A recent article from Women's Health Magazine highlights the powerful impact of just five minutes of daily skipping, especially for women. The biggest takeaway?
Bone density.
As we age, maintaining bone mineral density becomes critical, particularly for women. The impact loading from jumping rope stimulates bone-building activity, helping reduce the risk of osteoporosis while improving balance, coordination, and cardiovascular health.

We also published our own guide on recommended jump rope training by age group, breaking down how volume and intensity should adjust over time.
If you are new to jumping rope, the recommendation is simple:
Aging well is not about slowing down. It is about staying spring-loaded.

This story genuinely gets us excited.
As reported by CBS News Atlanta, Sean and Michelle Clark turned their shared love of Double Dutch into a movement that has helped more than 100,000 people across 30 cities get active. What started as an idea while they were dating quickly became a mission to make Double Dutch as respected and accessible as other fitness formats. From teaching children and inmates to working with celebrities, they’ve built more than classes. They’ve built community.
Sean summed it up best:
“Whatever was going on in your household stayed in your household, because when you came outside, you had a chance to feel good and have a good time.”
That is what we love about this story. Double Dutch is rhythm. It is teamwork. It is laughter. It is showing up for each other. It is affordable, accessible, and rooted in culture. And now it is inspiring a new generation to move.

The momentum keeps building.
NPR recently featured Double Dutch on Morning Edition, highlighting its resurgence in parks and city centers across the country. Reporter Leslie Eiler Thompson visited Washington Square Park, where coach Shakira Lee teaches complete beginners to jump in less than ten minutes.
What began as a children’s game in urban neighborhoods, primarily among young Black girls, is now spreading through viral pop up events and social media. And the impact goes far beyond cardio. Double Dutch builds coordination, confidence, rhythm, and real community connection.
