Jump Rope Digest: February 2025 | #News

Feb 24, 2025Jordan Lindstrom

Welcome to February’s Jump Rope Digest, where we bring you the best stories, wildest jump rope moments, and all the motivation you need to keep jumping. This month, we’ve got real-life superheroes, romantic jump rope vibes, and even a rescue mission featuring double-Dutch ropes. Let’s dive in!

Wolverine Jumps Rope—What’s Your Excuse?

Hugh Jackman, aka Wolverine, isn’t just slashing bad guys—he’s jumping rope now too. Back in October, he started training with jump rope pro Beth Lewis, learning an entire dance jump rope routine for his concert show. Fast forward to January 24, and he performed it live on stage at Radio City Music Hall.

Was it perfect? Nope. But that’s what makes it awesome. At 56, Jackman is proving that it’s never too late to learn something new and get 1% better every day. He’s got 21 more performances to nail it—talk about commitment!

And guess what? The rope Jackman and Beth Lewis chose for training was the Elite Jumps Freestyle Beaded Jump Rope—white handles, silver beads. A true hero’s weapon of choice.

So, if Wolverine can pick up a jump rope and push past the learning curve, what’s stopping you? Do Hard Things. Get jumping.

Move over, Marvel—jump rope pro David Fisher, also known as The Rope Warrior,  just saved a man and his dog from a frozen pond using his double-Dutch ropes. Yes, you read that right.

Here’s what went down: Fisher’s son heard a guy yelling for help, and it turned out a neighbor had chased his dog onto an icy pond and fallen in. Fisher, a literal jump rope world record holder, grabbed his ropes, carefully stepped onto the ice, and pulled them both to safety.

We’ve always known jump ropes were strong, but strong enough for a life-or-death rescue? That’s next level.

Moral of the story? Jump ropes can literally save lives. (Also, maybe keep your dog on a leash near frozen water.)
